7.1.2 Overall Rating
The Overall rating (OV) is a composite of the other ratings shown above. The weighting of these ratings is different for offensive players, defensive players and goaltenders, recognizing their important roles on the team and the relative value provided.

7.2. Re-Rates
The player ratings will be based on NHL performance and / or statistics not based on how well they perform in the simulator.

7.2.1. Off-Season New Ratings Pack
During the off-season, all players that played at least 10 NHL games or 10 AHL games during the past season will receive new ratings. Some may be re-rated that didn't play a game this past season for various reasons. The ratings will be based primarily on the previous season but the player's performances from earlier seasons may be taken into account too. Currently, we use the BRHL Ratings pack for the OTHL.

7.2.2. Off-Season Re-Rates
Each off-season, each team will be granted ONE (1) re-rate to use on any player at any position. Rerates can NOT be traded. *Beginning with the 2021 Offseason, each team will be given TWO (2) re-rates. One (1) may be used on a player at any position. The 2nd SHALL be used ONLY on a goaltender. Teams are not required to utilize both rerates.

The Re-Rate Process will take an average of the previous years preseason ratings and the current years preseason ratings for all skill sets with the exception of EX/LD. EX/LD will not be re-rated. Those ratings remain as is with the current years preseason ratings pack. If a player did not have ratings in the previous years preseason ratings pack, then they are not eligible for the off-season re-rate.

Example: Sidney Crosby SC rating = 80 in the 2018-2019 preseason ratings pack; SC rating of 70 in the 2019-2020 preseason ratings pack, the average of the two = 75, so the re-rate would allow you to bump his SC from 70 to 75.

If the difference between the preseason ratings pack equals an odd number, which means the average will have a half point added on, we will round down in all instances. Ex: 2018-2019 preseason ratings pack had Crosby at 79 SC, and 2019-2020 preseason ratings pack has Crosby at 72, the average of the two equals 75.5, meaning we'll round down and his rating will be 75.

7.2.3. Mid-Season Re-Rates
Each team is given 1 re-rate* that they can use on any player on their current pro or farm roster. The re-rate cannot be traded.

When the mid-season re-rate process begins, the BOD will announce it on the leagues message board and layout the guidelines that are to be used for the re-rate process. (ie. Who to send requests to, and the form by which to request the re-rate.) General Managers must provide the league with stats and reasons why said player(s) should be re-rated. The Re-rate committee will have the final say on all ratings.

*Due to timing issues, the BOD may decide to suspend the re-rate process if they feel it neccessary. If they choose to suspend, an announcement will be made on the forum.
Please don't PM this account. It is rarely accessed and only used for league announcements!
